What is Lightning AI?

Lightning AI is an AI cloud - like AWS or GCP, but purpose-built for AI. Instead of single-purpose tools for training, inference, or deployments, Lightning AI gives you a unified set of high-performance tools, compute, and copilots that make it easy to build, train, deploy, and ship AI models end-to-end.

Who is Lightning AI for?

Lightning AI is built for the full spectrum of AI builders - from beginners learning to code with AI agents, to developers learning AI, to experienced ML engineers and AI researchers running clusters, optimizing models, and training frontier-scale systems.

How did Lightning AI start?

Lightning AI was founded by William Falcon, a PhD researcher at Facebook AI, and a world-class team that has been training and deploying large-scale AI systems since 2015. After years working with traditional clouds like AWS and GCP, we saw that they lacked the tools, performance, and developer experience needed for modern AI development. So we set out to build the next-generation AI cloud - combining frontier-grade performance with an intuitive, Apple-like user experience.

Our mission is simple: make AI development easy for beginners and powerful for advanced researchers.

You can access over 6 clouds on Lightning AI. You can also bring your own cloud or run onprem.

No worries! Start up a Studio and ask our AI copilots to help you build anything!

I am an expert developer

Think of Lightning AI as an AI cloud (ie: AWS, but specialized for AI). This means clusters that are fast, reliable, with infiniband, etc... All sorts of easy-to-use tools like collaborative code spaces (Studio), on-demand GPUs, multi-cloud support, on-prem support, model registry and more.

Every tool you need for AI is bundled and included in the Lightning AI cloud.

I am an expert researcher

So is most of our team! We train and deploy models using Lightning AI. Most teams usually start with a managed Kubernetes or SLURM cluster and go from there. As your team expands, you'll find that our security, team management and multi-cloud features help you find the best GPUs anywhere and reduce wasted GPU spend.

Lightning AI requires non-virtual phone numbers. Enterprise customers can bypass phone verification - please contact your support team.

I didn't get my free credits

You can only get credits for 1 account.
