Personal organization

On June 19, 2026, your personal teamspace will become a personal organization named <your-username> Org. This page explains what's changing, what stays the same, and how to migrate early if you'd like.

Why this change?

Today, new users land in a Personal Teamspace, not an Organization. That subtle difference is easy to miss and introduces confusion around projects, billing, and permissions, since everything else on Lightning AI is built around organizations.

Making every account a personal organization removes the special case. You get the same structure as the rest of the platform, the same place to manage billing and members, and the option to grow into a team later without recreating anything.

What carries over automatically

Nothing is lost in the migration. Your new personal org will include:

• All your work: Studios, Deployments, Drive files, and other artifacts
• Credits and subscriptions: your balance and plan transfer as-is
• Billing details: payment methods and invoice history stay attached

You'll be the only admin of your new personal org.

What changes

• Your personal teamspace is renamed and lives inside <your-username> Org
• URLs and references update to use the new org
• You'll see your personal org in the organization switcher alongside any other orgs you belong to

If your teamspace has collaborators

If other Lightning AI users currently collaborate with you in your personal teamspace, here's what happens at migration:

• They're automatically added to your new personal org as guests
• Guests only see the teamspace(s) they already had access to, nothing else in your org is visible to them (other teamspaces, billing, members, or settings)
• Their existing permissions inside that teamspace are unchanged

If you collaborate in someone else’s personal teamspace

If you currently collaborate inside another user’s personal teamspace, you’ll keep access after their migration.

• You’ll be added to their new personal organization as a guest
• Switch to their organization from the sidebar
• The shared teamspace will appear inside that organization
• Your existing access and permissions inside the teamspace are preserved

When does it happen?

• Automatic migration: June 19, 2026. No action required — your account is migrated for you
• Opt in early: any time before that date, from the banner at the top of your personal dashboard

Opting in early

If you'd rather not wait:

1. Open your personal dashboard
2. In the info banner at the top, click Learn more and opt in early
3. Review the summary, then click Opt in early

Migration usually takes a few seconds. When it completes, we automatically redirect you to your new personal org — no refresh needed.

FAQ

Will my Studios stop or restart?

No. Running Studios and Deployments are not interrupted by the migration.

Will collaborators lose access?

No. Existing access is preserved.

Can I rename my personal org later?

Yes. Once migrated, you can rename it from the org settings page like any other organization.

What if the migration fails?

You'll stay on your existing personal teamspace and we'll retry. If you opted in early and it didn't complete, contact support and we'll investigate.

Can I opt out?

No. All personal teamspaces will be migrated by June 19, 2026. Opting in early just lets you make the switch on your own schedule.
